NIMS ICS Training Requirements
NIMS (National Incident Management System) is what the nation uses for managing incidents and as a member of search and rescue it is a requirement to have the IS-100.b (ICS 100) Introduction to Incident Command System and also the IS-700.a National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction.  Those members that are more active and take the role of team leader should also take the IS-200.b and IS-800.b courses.  Anyone interested in being an incident commander and/or Search Manager will need to take the 300 and 400 level courses which will require classroom time, not just an online class.  For now, however, we need to just focus on completing the ICS-100.b and the IS-700.a.  Both of these courses are simple and can be taken online at http://training.fema.gov/IS/NIMS.asp.  Simply follow the online tutorial and then take the final exam.  E-mail Kenna your certificates, or bring them in to the office so that she can put them in your files.
