Tip Top Search and Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization based in Sublette County which was created about 30 years ago to promote public safety and welfare. The team works under the Sheriff but has its own command structure. The men and women of this all volunteer team train weekly and are called out on an average of once or twice a month throughout the year to conduct a search. A typical search takes place in the fall or winter which are normally the busiest times with hunting, snowmobiling and winter storms. Due to the large number of people visiting the mountains, the focus has changed recently from search to rescue and recovery.
